Joint Base Andrews lay in a cloak of darkness, a steady rain fell, slowly picking up, from a soft drizzle to a raging torrent. The black canvas of sky was split in a blue fissure of lightning, an early morning silence was shattered, thrown out of place by a rolling roar of the thunder, a remnant of the short lived bolt. An orange haze hung over the base, caused by the lights that pierced the jet black air. VC-35, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner converted to an air-lifter, famous for transporting the President of the United States, the airframe lay tucked away in the hangar, the walls of the structure taking the direct force of the early dawn thunders
